With eyes fixed on the western horizon, our pioneering ancestors embarked on real life adventures that forever changed the face of America. Maybe that’s why even today, something still drives us to travel and discover what’s around the next bend or over the next hill. It’s a yearning that’s as American as the Old West, itself… an inherent desire to grow, learn, accomplish and live life to the fullest. 

For the early pioneers headed west, knowing what lie ahead was more than a curiosity - that knowledge could easily mean the difference between life and death and success or failure.  Early western travelers often used guidebooks outlining where to find water, grass, fuel for fires, wild game, river crossings, and other necessities.  In tribute to that powerful spirit of American independence and the urge to ‘hit the trail’, we include this “Destinations” section on our site.
 
Most destinations listed here are close to a number of other popular attractions well suited for the entire family.  In addition to the historic adventures offered, these locations have yet another feature in common – they all include rare displays of vintage horse drawn vehicles.  These were the wheels that saw so much of the western history and westward expansion of the United States… the farm, freight, ranch, military and coach vehicles that dominated the western landscape. Some of these locations have a special collection of a select few vehicles while others have enough to keep you engaged for hours.  Since exhibits can change from time to time, we recommend contacting the organization before finalizing your travel plans.
